Volunteering at the Trussell Trust Food Bank with CTM & Delta Airlines
At CTM, we firmly believe in the power of giving back to our communities, and a group of our employees recently embraced the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by spending a day volunteering with the Trussell Trust at the Norwood and Brixton Food Bank in London. The Trussell Trust is an anti-poverty charity and community of food banks that works to ensure no one in the UK is reliant on a food bank to survive. Each year more than 30,000 volunteers give their time, skills and compassion to support Trussell and its food bank community. Every CTM employee is given an additional day of annual leave to spend volunteering with a cause they feel passionate about.
At the heart of every community are the people who come together to support one another, and volunteering at a local food bank is a powerful ways to help those in need.
Alongside volunteers from our preferred supplier Delta Airlines, a selection of CTM colleagues spent a day sorting supplies and packing parcels filled with essential supplies to support people in need. Together, they packed 209 toiletry boxes for individuals and families in need. “It was so eye-opening to see how something so simple can make a huge difference,” said Abbie Harvey (Supplier Relations Support Coordinator). “These small acts of kindness add up and provide critical support to individuals and families in need.”
For our team, it was a day that highlighted the importance of coming together to support those in need and how every small contribution can make a meaningful difference. “We all agreed that it was an enriching experience,” Abbie added. “We’d love to do it again and continue making a positive impact in our community.”
