Airline updates

Delta announces new nonstop routes from Boston to Madrid and Nice

Delta will launch its brand new nonstop flights to Madrid on 16 May and Nice on 17 May 2026, further enhancing its European network. Flights to Madrid will operate daily and fights to Nice will operate three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Read more

 

 

Emirates announces fourth daily flight to London Gatwick

From 8 February 2026, Emirates will introduce its fourth daily flight between Dubai and London Gatwick, operated by an Airbus A350 aircraft in a three-class configuration. With this addition, the airline’s London services will total 12 flights across three airports, offering customers more flexibility and choice. Read more

 

 

Lufthansa to reinstate service from Munich to Riyadh

Starting 26 October, Lufthansa will once again operate a nonstop service between Munich and Riyadh. There will be three flights per week onboard one of the world’s most modern long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900, offering 293 seats across three cabin classes. Read more

 

 

Air France introduces ‘Short Connection Pass’ at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

The new ‘Short Connection Pass’ triggers automatically upon arrival of the inbound flight to Paris CDG, when the connection time between flights falls below a certain threshold. The passenger will receive an email and a text message informing them that they’re eligible for “priority access” at security and border control checkpoints. Read more

 

 

SWISS unveils new SWISS First Grand Suite

the SWISS First Grand Suite combines two First Class suites and the aisle into a single spacious and self-contained space with walls over 1.8 metres tall, which can be used as a bedroom, office, or even meeting room. The First Grand Suite will be introduced in 2026 on the new Airbus A350s, followed by the gradually refurbished Airbus A330s on flights from Switzerland, and eventually Boeing 777s at a later date. KLM adds Kittilä, Finland to winter schedule

For the 2025-2026 winter season, KLM will add Kittilä to its network, operating a weekly flight between Amsterdam and Kittilä each Sunday from 23 November 2025 to 22 March 2026, onboard a Boeing 737-800. Read more

New Village Hotel Sheffield to open in 2026

Village Hotels has announced the opening of Village Hotel Sheffield at Chesterfield Road South. The existing property will be refurbished and reopened as a Village Hotel, with new bedrooms, Village Health & Wellness Club, Pub & Grill and Starbucks. Read more

 

 

Travelodge acquires four new properties in Preston, Bradford, Chesterfield and Cardiff

Together, the new hotels will add 324 rooms to Travelodge’s UK portfolio. Travelodge Preston North will be located just off the M6, offering easy access to the city centre, Manchester and the Lake District. Bradford Shipley will open on the canal side near Saltaire Village, with rail access to Leeds. Chesterfield Town Centre will benefit from a central location, a short distance from both the Peak District and Chatsworth House. Cardiff Gate will offer great links to Cardiff city centre, business parks and the airport.

 

New EV charging stations unveiled at Village Cheadle, South Manchester

New ultra-rapid EV charging stations have been installed at Village Cheadle. They’re compatible with any car, utilise 100% renewable energy, and have an average fuel time of 23 minutes. Read more

 

 

86-room NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano opens in the Sicilian capital

Located within an 18th-century aristocratic building, the hotel features 86 rooms – many of which still have their original cast-iron balconies, offering charming views of the old town. There’s a modern restaurant and bar area where guests can enjoy the flavours of Sicily, and it includes a versatile event room with space to host up to 56 people, an interior patio and a private, quiet area. New 198-key Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg, Dolce by Wyndham opens in Denmark

The four-star Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg, Dolce by Wyndham is located in one of Europe’s most walkable cities, just 250 metres from Aalborg Train Station and 7km from Aalborg Airport. It features 13 conference rooms with capacity for up to 365 guests, a restaurant with panoramic views and a seasonal menu, and a relaxed bar venue with a spacious terrace overlooking Kildeparken. Radisson’s second verified Net Zero hotel opens in Oslo

The new Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel is now open, with 118 guest rooms, lively social spaces, a renovated gym, and six flexible meeting and event spaces for up to 100 guests. The hotel is powered by 100% renewable energy, features low-carbon menus, and maintains a commitment to minimal waste operations – with remaining emissions compensated with carbon removal certificates. Accor to open MGallery hotel in the French Alps in 2027

Designed as an alpine sanctuary, the boutique hotel will offer 82 rooms, with nearly a third of the property featuring suites with direct access to the ski slopes. Future guests can also look forward to an onsite fine dining restaurant, main restaurant with a terrace, a bar, and a speakeasy, as well as a 480 square metre spa with indoor and outdoor pools. There will also be a dedicated ski and snowboard room, a private screening room, and a relaxation area for après-ski moments. Read more

Blacklane announces expansion into Bahrain

Blacklane’s premium chauffeur services are now available in Bahrain’s capital Manama, with further plans to roll operations out across the island soon. This marks a key milestone in Blacklane’s Middle Eastern growth strategy, opening up city-to-city routes between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, Dammam, and Al Khobar.
