Airline updates
British Airways announces new destinations and more flights for winter 2026
Flights from London Gatwick to Colombo, Sri Lanka will commence on 23 October 2026 for the winter season only, and year-round flights from London Heathrow via Kuala Lumpur will launch on 9 February 2027. The airline also has plans to increase frequencies on several popular routes from London to Cape Town, Tokyo, Barbados, St Lucia, San Jose, Kingston, Punta Cana, New Orleans, Baltimore, Houston, Delhi, and Abu Dhabi. Lufthansa announces nonstop connection from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur
Commencing on 25 October 2026, Lufthansa will offer a year-round connection five times per week onboard the new Boeing 787-9, which features 287 seats in a three-class configuration and the new Allegris cabin. Read more
Air France to double daily flights from Paris to Newark
From 1 June to 11 October, Air France will add another daily flight from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Newark Liberty International Airport. This service will be operated with an Airbus A350-900 aircraft featuring the latest cabins and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi. Read more
Singapore Airlines adds more frequencies between London Gatwick and Singapore Changi
Between 31 March and 2 July, Singapore Airlines will increase frequencies on its Gatwick-Singapore route from daily to 10 times per week, adding additional services on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Services will then increase to double-daily from 3 July to 29 August, then return to 10 weekly services between 1 September and 24 October.
Iberia increases capacity and frequencies for Easter period
Between 27 March and 7 April, Iberia will operate three additional flights per week to Venice, two new frequencies to Budapest, Athens and Prague, and one extra flight to Vienna. Capacity on flights to Rome will also increase, with some flights operated by wide-body aircraft. The carrier will also launch its daily flights to Newark in the US on 29 March, operated by the new Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Read more
LOT Polish Airlines begins in-flights Wi-Fi rollout
Internet access is now available on the carrier’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner and will be available on two more aircraft by the end of April. LOT Business Class passengers and members of the Miles & More programme from select airlines can access complimentary Internet access, dependent on status. Read more

The 122-room hotel is located along the banks of the River Thames near the centre of Reading – offering easy access to the M4 for Heathrow Airport and just 0.8 miles away from Reading train station. Melia Hotels International welcomes Hotel President Budapest into its Affiliated by Meliá network
Based in Budapest’s vibrant heart, the 152-room four-star hotel marks Melia’s debut in Hungary. There are 267 square metres of versatile meeting spaces across three multifunctional rooms, and guests can also enjoy a creative twist on classic Hungarian flavours at the rooftop kitchen and bar, Intermezzo Restaurant and Café. Hyatt debuts in Portugal with the opening of Andaz Lisbon
Nestled in Lisbon’s historic Baixa neighbourhood, the hotel puts guests near vibrant cafes, boutiques and dynamic nightlife. It features 170 rooms and suites, a fully equipped fitness centre and two dining concepts that blend traditional and contemporary Portuguese cuisine. Read more
YOTEL becomes first brand to join newly established Select by Hilton brand
The new franchise agreement will see YOTEL continue to independently manage and license its brand across its 23 hotels in key markets like New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Glasgow and Singapore. The exclusive agreement will give guests another way to stay within Hilton’s growing global portfolio. Read more
Dalata Hotel Group announces The Maldron Kensington
The new four-star hotel will open on Hammersmith Road in Kensington, a five-minute walk from the recently redeveloped Olympia London exhibition centre. Scheduled to open in 2029, this will mark Dalata’s seventh London hotel and increase its portfolio in the capital to more than 1,400 rooms. The development will include approximately 370 guestrooms, a restaurant, bar, dry gym, and business centre. Read more
Ground updates
LNER reintroduces InterCity 225 train on daily service between London and Newcastle
After a five-year hiatus, the 225 trains are back in service on the 14:33 weekday departure from London King’s Cross to Newcastle, returning to the capital at 18:27. On weekends, the train will also operate the 12:33 from London King’s Cross to Newcastle and the 16:27 return from Newcastle. Read more
New improved LNER First Class Lounge reopens at London King’s Cross Station
After a major refurbishment, passengers with First Class tickets can enjoy additional seating, dedicated zones for working, and heritage-inspired décor. New Customer Information Screens have been installed throughout and complimentary drinks and snacks are still available. Read more
