Etihad Airways unveils new ‘Sustainability50’ Airbus A350
Etihad Airways unveiled its new Airbus A350-1000. The aircraft is the first A350 to be operated by a UAE airline and the first of five A350s set to join Etihad’s fleet over the coming months. Named the Sustainability50 carries a unique livery in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the federation of the UAE and Etihad’s commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Read more
British Airways launches community fund to deliver opportunities in the UK
British Airways has launched its new community-based initiative, the BA Better World Community Fund. The project will support organisations and projects that have a positive impact on communities within the UK, enabling British Airways to support projects that deliver benefits for climate, communities, colleagues and nature, all of which align with its sustainability aims. It also enables British Airways to deploy its people and resources to help communities affected by crises. Read more
Virgin Atlantic elevates customer experience for its A350 Upper Class
Virgin Atlantic has unveiled a series of new experiences including a private dining, wine and cognac tasting exclusively available on its A350 aircraft. The experience for two has been designed for leisure customers and will be available within The Booth in the Upper-Class cabin – the social space that has replaced the former Loft. The London to Orlando route is the first to feature the newly configured aircraft and experiences. Read more
KLM has launched new business class menus
KLM has launched new World Business Class menus on flights departing Amsterdam, ahead of the introduction of the new tableware this summer. The carrier has employed Dutch Chef Jonnie Boer of three Michelin starred restaurants to create dishes.
Etihad and Abu Dhabi Airport team up to launch Etihad Guest’s ‘Miles on the go’
Abu Dhabi Airports and Etihad Airways have teamed up to launch Etihad Guest, the award-winning loyalty programme ‘Miles on the go’ product at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Etihad guests can now instantly earn and spend Etihad Guest Miles when shopping at participating merchants at the Airport. Read more
London City Airport boosted by business travel
During the month of March, business travel has put London City airport on course for its busiest month since the start of the pandemic. London City is being further boosted by the start of new BA CityFlyer routes this month to Milan Malpensa and Luxemburg, plus the restart of services to Rotterdam and Nice. New Italian carrier ITA Airways will also be starting flights from the airport to Milan Linate.

Travelodge unveils plans for #budget-luce” revamp
Travelodge has unveiled plans to transform its hotels with a new “budget-luxe” design set to be rolled out across its UK portfolio. The redesign includes a timeless classic style for the main reception, Bar Café area and rooms redesigned with a new signature navy blue colour. A total of 60 hotels will take on the new design this year and will include several sustainable elements, including low energy lighting, motion-sensing controls, aerated showers and taps, and carpets and carpet backings made from recycled fishing nets and old plastic bottles.

Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly is set to open on 28 April 2022. The Fattal Hotel Group has been developing a 275-room hotel close to the City’s Manchester Piccadilly Station. The property features Leo’s bar and restaurant, as well as a meeting room and fitness centre.

Eurostar reopens cocktail bars in Business Premier lounges
Eurostar, the high-speed rail service linking the UK and mainland Europe, is resuming its full Business Premier lounge service with the re-opening of its London and Paris cocktail bars and relaunch of its canapé collection. The relaunch is set to meet the growing demand for leisure and business travel and the cocktail menu features a range of British, Belgian, Dutch and French spirits. Read more
