Overview
This client is Britain’s largest generator of zero-carbon electricity and ranks among the top six energy providers in the UK. Since December 2024, our partnership has been built on a foundation of trust and delivering measurable results, driving innovation and sustainability across their travel programme.

Challenges
- Lack of visibility into travel spend and policy adherence
- There was limited guidance or data available to drive meaningful progress towards emissions reduction and ESG objectives

Solutions
We facilitated in-depth workshops on the online booking experience, sustainability, and finance to refine the solution collaboratively. We implemented our proprietary OBT and technology, supported by agile development cycles for rapid enhancements that meet evolving business needs. Sprint-based development and flexible tech capacity delivered fast, impactful results. To improve service, we introduced a collaborative SLA to address concerns, boost agent accountability, and strengthen OBT support. Results
Cost Savings: Client achieved substantial cost savings within 10 weeks, reducing hotel spend by £87,000, with potential annualised savings of £389,000.
Time Savings: Efficiencies were realised through monthly PA sessions for over 100 bookers, supported by a persistent Teams chat that fostered peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and reduced reliance on one-to-one support.
Policy Compliance: Policy adoption increased from 88% to 95% within just two weeks, resulting in 2,902 bookings in the first month and over 30,000 within five months—an average of nearly 7,000 per month.
Bespoke Innovation: Tailored solutions included an automated HR feed processing 500–600 updates daily, a dynamic cost code tool eliminating manual recharges across more than 46,000 combinations, and enhanced basket-value approval logic, customised to meet the clients complex requirements.
Sustainable Choices: Sustainability was prioritised through data-led decisions and recommendations delivered during quarterly strategic business review meetings. Initiatives included stakeholder-level carbon budgeting, rail vs air carbon comparison tools, and behavioural nudges to promote lower-emission travel decisions across the organisation.
